Melkbos Animal Care is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of abandoned, abused, and neglected animals, offering a second chance at a loving home.

Advocacy for the Right to Life

As a Right to Life animal shelter, we prioritize the well-being of our animals and only consider euthanasia when it is in the best interest of the animal's suffering. We provide a safe haven for dogs, cats, horses, and more.

Community-Powered Support & Solidarity

Melkbos Animal Care operates without government or municipal funding, relying on the generosity of the animal-loving public. Whether you adopt, donate, sponsor, or utilize our services, your support directly contributes to the care and well-being of over 600 animals in our shelter.

Melkbos Animal Care needs to raise enough money every month to cover their overheads. It’s not just a matter of feeding the animals – every animal gets sterilized, de-wormed, vaccinated, microchipped, and any other medical treatment they may need, including expensive operations from time to time.
